Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.

Applications at the moment are open and can shut on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must satisfy the subsequent criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a home using a combined gross domestic earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined residence income doesn't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not submit any evidence of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing my nsfas Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the correct Identification Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored in their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are learning or intend to study at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
